Corrections Policy

How to report an error on Security Standards Canada, what we correct, and how quickly. Accuracy is the point of the site.

Last updated July 8, 2026.

This site is only useful if it is accurate. We correct confirmed errors, and we would rather hear about a problem than leave it standing.

What to report

  • A wrong or outdated detail on a listing: name, website, headquarters, category, or status.
  • A company that has closed, merged, or rebranded.
  • A standards summary that no longer matches the current edition.
  • A citation or link that is broken or points to the wrong source.
  • A sponsored placement that is not clearly labeled.

How to report it

Email contact@securitystandards.ca with the page and the correction, or use the "Is this you?" link on any listing to request an update or removal. Include a source if you have one. It speeds up the review.

What happens next

We review every report. If the correction is clear, we fix it promptly. If it needs checking, we verify against a reliable source before changing anything. If a company disputes an accurate statement, we keep the statement and note the dispute where it matters. We do not remove accurate information because a company would prefer it gone.

Claiming or removing a listing

If a listing is your company or practice, you can ask us to update it or take it down. Requests come through the same channel. We confirm the connection before making account-level changes.
