Siemens offers a comprehensive fire detection and life safety portfolio under its Desigo Fire Safety and Cerberus PRO brands, covering conventional, addressable, and large networked fire alarm systems for commercial, industrial, and critical infrastructure markets. The Desigo Fire Safety (UL) platform includes 50-point, 252-point, and 504-point variants tuned for the North American market with UL and ULC listings, while Cerberus PRO targets large-scale European and international installations with up to 32,766 addressable points per network. Siemens fire safety products integrate natively with the Desigo CC building management platform, enabling coordinated fire response with HVAC smoke control, lighting, and access control from a single operator interface. The company's digital fire safety services platform enables remote monitoring, detector diagnostics, and eLogbook reporting. Siemens maintains a significant Canadian installation base particularly in healthcare, transit, and public infrastructure.

Siemens Smart Infrastructure covers fire safety (Cerberus PRO, engineered fire alarm with full ULC listings), building automation (Desigo), and electronic security (Siveillance for video and command-and-control, SiPass for access). Like Honeywell and JCI it sells through a mix of national branches and certified solution partners, and its fire business is one of the engineered-systems incumbents in Canadian institutional and industrial work.

Siemens’ differentiation is the building-as-a-system pitch: fire, HVAC, energy, and security engineered together, with the OT cybersecurity posture of an industrial automation giant behind it. That resonates most in hospitals, data centres, airports, and campuses where the same vendor already runs the building controls. For standalone security projects it competes less on price and more on lifecycle and integration depth.
