Overview

Yubico makes the YubiKey, the hardware security key that has become the reference implementation of phishing-resistant multi-factor authentication. YubiKeys support FIDO2/WebAuthn, PIV smart card, OTP, and OpenPGP on a single device, which lets one key cover cloud logins, workstation smart-card auth, and privileged accounts. For security integrators and consultants, hardware keys are the practical answer when a client outgrows SMS and app-based MFA, particularly for admin accounts and high-value targets.
